Record it once. Leave with a link or the file.
Read from a teleprompter without looking away from the lens. Pick wide, vertical or square before you hit record. Cut words by clicking them, burn the captions in, then copy the share link or download a video file you can attach or upload.

BoomCut is the recorder and the editor in one place, so the video you just made never has to leave for a timeline and come back.
One recorder, two ways out
The shape is a real control in the recorder, not a preset applied afterwards. Pick it first and what comes out already fits where it is going.

You want a reply
A link you paste into the thread
- Sales follow-up
- Walk through the one slide they asked about instead of resending the deck.
- Recruiter outreach
- Say what the role actually is in ninety seconds, with the job link under the video.
- Coaching feedback
- Share your screen over their draft and mark up what you would change.
- Support answer
- Show the three clicks rather than writing them out and hoping.
You want the file
A video file with the captions burned in
- Shorts, Reels and TikTok
- Frame vertical before you record, cut the dead air, keep the captions on.
- Course lessons
- Screen plus camera, wide, and a transcript you can hand to the workbook.
- Podcast teasers
- Pull the good ninety seconds out as a square clip for the feed.
- Newsletter and community updates
- A short video at the top of the email, with a thumbnail that links to it.
Three steps. Under five minutes.
Pick the shape, write the script
Wide, vertical or square, then type a few lines or paste what you already have. Short is good.
Record while you read it
The script scrolls under the camera. With Read-Along it keeps up with your voice, so you never lose your place.
Take the link or the file
Cut what you do not want, then copy the share link straight into an email or a message, or download a video file with the captions burned in.
What you get
One pass: frame it, read it, cut it, and take the link or the file.
Wide, vertical or square
Pick the shape before you record. The camera frames to it and the recording comes out that size, so nothing is cropped guesswork afterwards.
Teleprompter with Read-Along
The script sits under the lens. Read-Along scrolls as you speak, and slows down when you do. On iPhone it scrolls at a speed you set.
Cut a word by clicking itPro
Your video is turned into text. Click a word to remove it from the video. No timeline to learn.
Captions in the picturePro
Captions come from the same transcript. Keep them as a track, or burn them into the file so they survive autoplay on any feed.
Download the file
Take the finished cut away when the next step is an upload rather than a link. The browser decides the format: MP4 where your browser supports it, WebM where it does not. Both attach and upload anywhere.
Screen plus camera
Show the page you mean and stay in the corner of it. You come out as one video. Needs a computer browser.
Virtual backgroundsPro
Put something tidier behind you than the spare room, or use your own image.
Email thumbnails that paste
Copy a thumbnail with a play button and paste it into Outlook. It stays a clickable picture.
See who watchedPro
Views, how far people got, and who clicked your button. Know who to call first.
Your own button
Add a link under the video, such as a booking page, so the next step is one click.

Questions
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Open the site in Safari or Chrome and record with your front camera. You can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. Two limits: sharing your screen is not available on phones, and on iPhone the script scrolls at a speed you choose instead of following your voice.
Can I get the video as a file, not a link?
Yes. Download the finished cut and upload it wherever you like. You get an MP4 on Safari and most Chrome builds, and a WebM on Firefox, because the browser picks the format its recorder can write. Both play and upload everywhere that takes video. Pick wide, vertical or square before you record so the file is already the right shape, and choose whether the captions are burned into the picture.
I already have a link. Can I go straight to the editor?
Yes. Paste the share link, or just its id, on the Open a video page and it opens in the editor, where you can trim it, fix the captions and download the file. You can only open videos you recorded, so sign in with the account you made them on.
Is this a replacement for a video editor?
For a talking-head video, mostly. You cut by clicking words rather than dragging clips, and there is no timeline, no keyframes and no multi-track. If you need layered graphics or several camera angles stitched together, use a full editor.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in Chrome, Edge or Safari. Your browser will ask to use your camera and microphone. Say yes, and only to this site.
Can I use it without an account?
Yes. Record, copy the link and send it. An account adds a page that lists your videos, and it is how you get the paid features.
What happens to my videos?
They are stored so your link keeps working. Anyone who has the link can watch, and nobody else can find the video. Signed-in users can delete a video from their list.
How do I cancel?
Open the Plan page in your account and cancel there. You do not need to email anyone.
